This Bishops Court Villa is available each year from Dec 15 – Jan 15 for holiday rentals – It is owner occupied at all other times
Bishopscourt is one of the quietest of the leafy suburbs on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.
Bishopscourt is ideal for exploring different parts of the Cape Peninsula – 15 minutes’ drive from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, and barely 10 minutes’ from the wine-growing area of Constantia also within walking distance of the well-known Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and is a short drive to the very smart ‘Cavendish Square’ shopping mall – where there are numerous boutiques and good restaurants. In short … we think this is one of the best areas of Cape Town to stay in if you plan to get around and explore a little.
Set within this prestigious suburb lies a 5 star self-catering villa.
The contemporary lines of the house completely, surrounded by a lush green environment, makes you feel in touch with nature and in an “Out in the bush” experience. With the floor to ceiling glass windows and stacking doors the home opens itself out into the garden which has the effect of bringing the leafy green outside in.
Play to your hearts content on the Classic Clay Tennis Court or go for a dip in the crystal clean non-chlorinated swimming pool (secure from access by small children) with water crisp enough to drink, play boulles on the expansive lawn setting or sit back and take in the music from the summer Sunday concerts in Kirstenbosch gardens.
The house has an open, light, bright and airy feeling. With two lounges, one more formal than the other, with an environment conducive to post dinner party discussions over wine and a log fire; The second lounge is more for everyday living, integrating the kitchen into the living space so that you are always involved in the family, even whilst you are cooking.
The extended entertainment area, which incorporates a gas and wood burning fireplace, is directly off the informal lounge and leads onto the rim flow swimming pool. There is an additional outside hot shower for a refreshing late afternoon clean up after spending the day in the solar heated swimming pool or for clearing your mind, with the fresh smell of lavender, before you get going for the day in the early morning.
The house has three garages and parking for at least another 6 cars. It comes with a housekeeper living on the property with her own facilities close by.
Sleep with the heavens in one of the four bedrooms, all out with the top of the range sleeping facilities, “Simmons Mattresses” and “Granny Goose Feather Beds”. All bedrooms have their own bathrooms with heated towel rails, a bath and an open frameless shower. There is an outside water feature that links into the exclusive dining area for those nights of revelrous dinner parties, whilst sitting on the solid mahogany “Pierre Cronje” dining room table for 10 people.
The house has under floor heating for those cold winter evenings and ambient lighting for toning down the evening after a hard day’s work. It has the state of the art music system piped to each room with all occupants being able to choose their own music to set the tone for their days.
A scullery situated directly onto the kitchen houses extra fridges, an ice making machine, tumble drier, washing machine, wine cooler and dishwasher. The kitchen has the top of the range “Gaggenau” equipment for getting the meals together including a “Gaggenau” coffee machine for early morning freshly ground coffee to get you going on your day.
The house has a full wireless network for accessing the internet anywhere in the house, and a surround sound system for watching DVD’s in a real life film environment. A separate study and a guest toilet complete the picture for perfect living.
The house is fully secure and has 24 hour security, internal alarms and external beams and is linked to the local neighborhood watch and private security firms.
